The tour guide started off by showed us two popular optical toys during the 19th century, the Thaumatrope and the Zoetrope. I remembered professors had taught us in one of the lectures and it was totally different when I saw how it really works in real life. The tour guide first demonstrated the Thaumatrope it was a picture of the cage and the bird and I saw how the two pictures blend into one when he released the strings. Then he also demonstrated the Zoetrope when he spun the cylinder I saw the figure started running through the cuts in the sides. I like how he started off with the pre-film animation devices.
